Two Funerals and a Riot

Though I loathe to mention Ronald Reagan and Yasser Arafat in the same post, it is instructive to remember just how different our cultures are:

Brother Kerry Makes Final appearances

Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., greets the choir after speaking during Sunday Services at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004.

Why is this only a problem when Republicans do it? At my church this morning no political issues were mentioned and no candidate name was spoken. Same as always.
In His Own Words

"What we are doing, I think, is having its impact and it is the best way to protect our troops and sort of minimalize the proximity, if you will. I think we have been doing this pretty effectively and we should continue to do it that way."

Monday Morning Quarterback John Kerry, Dec 14th 2001 , commenting on US "outsourcing" efforts in Tora Bora

Just let that sink in.

UBL Endorses Kerry!

Add Osama Bin Laden to the growing list of terrorist endorsements of John Kerry. Today Air Al Qaeda (better known as Al Jazeera) has come into possession (how do they keep getting this lucky) of a new UBL tape. In it he accuses George Bush of "misleading" the American people. If only we could check his script to see if came via an Abeline Kinkos on DNC stationary.

Apparently UBL is also a Michael Moore fan:

"It never occurred to us that the commander in chief of the country would leave 50,000 citizens in the two towers to face those horrors alone ... Because he thought listening to a child discussing her goats was more important." - Usama Bin Laden

They are listening to what we say and petty divisiveness gives them comfort.
Time to Fire the Boss

Bruce Springsteen's signature song, Born in the USA, highlights the raw deal Vietnam veterans got when they returned home. How ironic he now campaigns for the man largely responsible for that chilly reception. Those returning vets where spat upon because of John Kerry and people like him.

"They told stories that, at times, they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Ghengis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam,in addition to the normal ravage of war and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country."

- John Kerry, testifying before the House Foreign Relations Committee,Washington, D.C., April 22, 1971

Though claims of wide spread atrocities have been largely discredited John Kerry has never apologized for his over the top testimony.

"American?" Jihadist Speaks

Over the weekend ABC obtained a video tape in Pakistan of a self proclaimed American Jihadist (pictured above) making terror threats against the United States. The 75 minute diatribe promises an event where "blood will run red in the streets of America".

Yesterday ABC said it would not run the tape because it could not be verified. Now that the CIA has verified it ABC now says it can't be run unless it can be done in a balanced manner. This of course from the network which originated the infamous internal memo calling for Bush to be held to higher standard for campaign accountability.

The real problem with this tape is that it plays to George Bush's strength, the war on terror. If it were a tape that would benefit Kerry it would have been aired by now. In fact it probably would have been leaked to the Kerry campaign like CBS's fake memo story so he could put together a new campaign commercial.

Update
Now that the cat is out of the bag, ABC has decided to air portions of the video tonight on World News Tonight. The tape attacks Bush and Cheney by name. Apparently another in the growing list of terrorist for Kerry. They should have their own 527 organization by now.

Update 2
I don't think this guy is really an American. He may have spent a great deal of time here, maybe even was educated here (check Berkley) but his English, though very good, appears to be a second language for him. Most noticeably his pronunciation of the word "tyranny" which he pronounce a ti-ren-ee.

Where Did they Go?

The disappearing explosives story seems poised to blow up in Kerry's face. Follow my flight of fancy:

  1. As the Washington Times is reporting (thanks Drudge), it appears Russian operatives moved the explosives in question in the weeks leading up to the war. Remember, there where incidents involving US forces and Russian "diplomats" on the Syrian border as the war began. At one point the US shot up and detained a Russian convoy.
  2. We knew that heavy truck traffic into Syria probably meant some of Saddam's weapons were on the move to Damascus.
  3. We probably have satellite pictures of trunks hauling arms out of the Al-Qaqaa, and probably had a good idea the place would be picked over by the time we got there. Nothing says "take me" like a International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) seal on it, so you can bet those items were the first to go.
  4. We're not ready to invade Syria and at some point we will want Russians cooperation in the War on Terror so there was little reason to go public with this intelligence. The Russians may eventually tell us know what they hauled out of Iraq. Maybe they already have.
  5. Now here is where it gets very speculative. John Kerry is on the intelligence committee. What are the chances he already knew all this and his current "outrage" is merely disingenuous campaign rhetoric. Or, perhaps he was too busy campaigning and just missed that briefing. Either way there is the real possibility his exploitation of this story is interfering with current US intelligence operations.

So the question is what did John Kerry know an when did CBS, the New York Times, the UN and the CIA tell him about it.

Crazy Democrat Watch

Watch out for more stories like this over the next few days as the crescendo of fours years of Democrat caustic rhetoric comes to its logical conclusion in the next 6 days. The left will now reap what it has so recklessly sown.
More Kerry Endorsements

First Kim Jong-Il then Arafat, now a leader of the Iraqi insurgency throws his support behind Kerry. It will be an axis of evil sweep when Osama chimes in.

Look like Kerry is about to loose a key endorsement: Arafat 'Very Sick,' Palestinian Leaders Summoned

Winning One For the Gipper

The Gipper

For all of us who have fond memories of the late Ronald Reagan, here's a great political add. It reminds me of why I'm so offended every time Kerry speaks glowingly of the Reagan, after referring to his administration as a time of "moral darkness".
Whats Old is News

At least this election cycle has had positive effect. The main stream media's Democratic partisans has been so over the top is is undeniable to all but the most stubborn liberal. This week the New Times "breaks" a story which is 18 months old. The cycle goes on:

  • NYT breaks the story critical of the Bush administration. Any mitigating or exculpatory information is omitted.
  • Its picked up throughout the main stream media.
  • The same day the story becomes a staple of Kerry's stump speech.
  • NYT prints a follow piece on how the "new" story is effecting the campaign.
  • Rinse and repeat until November 2nd.

Its about time to recycle an Abu Ghraib prison story.

God and Country

My liberal friends tell me a real problem they have with Bush and his supporters is the influence of the Christian right in Republican politics. There seems to be a persistent view that conservative church goers get their marching orders from the pulpit. Well I never have received such guidance. Politics does not come up in my church. There were no get out the vote efforts in my congregation. The same goes for my friends in other local churches. It may happen in isolated cases but it is not a wide spread coordinated effort in the Christian community. But this election season there is a great deal of evidence of churches being used by one of the political parties.

Here's a shot for a Philadelphia church where Ted Kennedy was speaking yesterday:

Here's Brother Kerry preaching at a Florida Church yesterday.

How 'bout Kerry at an Ohio Church service earlier this month

Find me the story of George Bush using God in this cynical way. When John Kerry is done with the God card he'll put it away until the next election.
